Working Full Time

OMG!!!! I can not believe how much energy it takes to work full time at a position that requires me to be on my feet walking 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day.  It is really cutting into my creative time.  I fall asleep by 9 pm regardless of being in bed.

However check out the Halloween ATC's that I completed this month for the Scrapbook.com swap. I am so bad about keeping the packages that tell me what the name of products is that I used.  I do remember that I found the Trick or Treat sticker at WalMart.

I picked up the stamp that I used for this card at Goodwill and it was a Recollection stamp.  I do remember that.

LEVI KOENIG: A Contemporary King Lear Dorothea Shefer-Vanson Published by Ebook Pro

I was given this book to write an honest review.

As a social worker, I saw a functional dysfunctional family trying to fake functioning until it becomes a reality. The father Levi has been a workaholic and the family roles are similar to an alcoholic family.  There is the type A older daughter that has it all together in a neat calendar.  There is the alcoholic scapegoat and the younger lost child.  Compounding these dynamics is the aging patriarch and the changing of the roles from independent father to the frail adult child.  The daughters secretly blame him for his frailties while feeling shame that they don’t have enough time or compassion to deal effectively. Levi is not willing to be left out of the decision making about his life and wants his secrets to remain as such.

If you like real to life adventures plan to purchase this one. You will not be disappointed.

The following is a quote from the book insert: “In Levi Koenig, A Contemporary King Lear, the author seeks to right a wrong. In Shakespeare’s play of the same name, King Lear’s two older daughters, Goneril and Regan, are portrayed as wicked, conniving women, while the youngest, Cordelia, is goodness incarnate. In her novel, Dorothea Shefer-Vanson seeks to rectify this distorted view of family relations in general, and the part played by daughters in particular.”

Childrens Book: Nuts about Nuts (Nutrildren - Nutrition for Children 1) Kindle Edition by Shir Guez

Amazing to read and understand as an adult.  This book is geared towards grades 1 thru 6.  It has the nutritional facts about all the nuts on the market. The book has colorful pictures to identify the various nuts and some fun facts, example squirrels like Chestnuts and Macadamia nuts make dogs sick.

The most amazing fact I found is Brazil nuts: “One Brazil nut contains an average of 95.8 micrograms of selenium. That’s more than twice the recommended daily consumption for kids ages 9-13, and more than three times the recommended daily consumption for kids ages 4-8!”

“BUT BE CAREFUL! Because Brazil nuts are really rich in selenium, it can be dangerous to eat too much of them. Eating more than 2-4 a day on a regular basis may lead to Selenosis (selenium poisoning).”

Ms Guez even has recipes available for you to make healthy snack for your children by joining her mailing list at https://shirguez.wordpress.com/subscribe-and-get-recipes-book/

The book is available in print and the Kindle ebook is free at Amazon.com

Ebook - THE CHOSEN Book I: The Youth by Shlomo Kalo published by Ebookpro

# Promotion
I was given the opportunity to review this book through Tomoson.com for my honest opinion.

A story of Daniel is a historical novel by Sholomo Kalo who is one of the most prolific writers in Israel and a nominee for the Nobel Prize in Literature.

I love that Shomo Kalo used imagination that is believable to add to the Biblical character Daniel and his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah.  The reader gains an understanding of the long journey to Babylon and the emotions of the loss of family and friends at home and the training it took to learn the Babylonian culture and language. The book ends with the appointment to a position in the court of Nebuchadnezzar.

Overall this is an enjoyable reading.  I love books on biblical characters and the authors who embellish on the history to come to factual accounts.  I do have one complaint and that would be that I found myself lost many times in the book by the over use of “He” and “the Youth.”  There were several youths introduced and during a conversation “he” was used and I had to reread the paragraph to determine the correct individual who was talking or having a personal thought.

This book is available at Amazon.com both in print and ebook form.

I had so much fun putting these ATC together.  I used a variety of mediums from my stash.  I find I have too many scraps that ATCs are the perfect pallet to use them up.
