Andrew Johnson has a deep resonate voice that allows you to focus on his presentation. I can tell you the truth I have never heard the end of the recording. I am unconscious and into the deep sleep that everyone desires. I love the background music that is subtle and calming in and of itself. All I can say is it works for me. You have to try it.

What a unique app! You can set multiple timers at once which is great for my job where I have to work 2 hours each on 2 projects and 45 minutes on another project before I clock out on my computer. Prior to this app I was always guessing if I had spent enough time on each project. Now I know.

"When" is a friendly and stylish task manager that looks like a clock. It is so easy to use. You can create a task, change its time or delete them with a single touch or swipe. My first task is a star and my second is a leaf, while my last task of the day is a diamond. The icons are automatic. I have notated each so I can identify the task.

The developer Mikhail Solomonov has put a lot of thought into this and has succeeded in creating a functional application.

Feather on the Breath of Ellulianaen by Robert Denethon

This is the first book of the trilogy which makes you want to read more. Robert Denethon style of writing is a combination of fantasy and ultra-reality. As an adult I was transformed into the story line of Elves, Gryphons, Dragons, and mysterious creatures Wyverns. Gryphons have a code not to trust humans but find a joint effort is the only way to fight the evil elf wizard.

The book is about Hwedolyn coming of age and finding that trusting in the God Ellulianaen can provide protection even when he questions Ellulianaen’s existence. It reminded me of today’s youth raised in a church with the knowledge of God and Jesus but in the end have to make a personal commitment to trusting Him.

The book further details family relationships, loss and recovery. Add twists and turns, adventure, battles and little demonic elves and you have one of the best books on the market.

I remember sitting on the floor in front of my great Uncle Cash with my siblings and cousins. Uncle Cash was a master story teller of terror. His voice reverberated the suspense. I was captivated with the smells, sights and sounds of the story. So entranced and engrossed in the story with the lights out and on a stormy night that we would sit closer to each other holding hands shivering with fear. Then the climax he would shout BOO! And we would all scream terrified into our Mom’s arms then laugh at each other for being such sissies.

Oh how I have tried to create a verbal story telling of terror on my Uncle Cash’s level of expertise, always failing.

Rayne Hall makes the ability to tell scary scene into a how to reference guide. I am so excited to have been able to read her book to evaluate it here on my blog. I was unaware of the differences between suspense, anxiety, unease, apprehension, foreboding, excitement, dread, revulsion, shock, panic and horror. Not only does she explain what they are but how to use each and the pitfalls of using them too much or inappropriately.

I have been journal writing forever and have attempted short stories but never could get the rhythm for describing a fight scene. I have been trying to write fantasy about animals in a real world and their behaviors. I love this book. It will make the difference in my writing.

It is like a reference guide for all types of weapons, scenes and the focus of the fighters. It describes the pit falls or blunders of what can go wrong in a fight scene. I love the links to You Tube that gives the visual to the chapter you have just read. I love the following chapters: 15. Female Fighters, 16. Male Fighters and 17. Animals and Weres. I was unaware the difference between the male and female psyche where a woman is slower to initiate or respond and takes longer to come to a rest mentally.

If you need a boost in providing a more realistic fight scene this book is a must reference guide.

Behold All Things New

Behold all things new keeps ringing in my ears. Well I do need and I repeat need some new things. The 1998 Ford Contour is providing me with transportation. I put a tie rod on the left and a wheel barring on the right and now it needs front struts, rear brakes and a front brake caliber. The auto repair mechanic said the undercarriage is so rusted out they have to be careful when they put it on the lift. It is time to say good bye to my faithful friend.

I was talking to a dealer 18 months ago and they asked what I was looking for? I responded a vehicle where all 4 windows roll down, and the fan has variable speeds and a tape or CD player that actually works. He said he thought he could find at least one on the lot that was worthy of my criteria. Now that I have to have a new car my criteria is more specific. I want low miles with good safety records and great gas mileage. A used car that has good tires, brakes and requires no start up maintenance like a fuel pump etc.

My problem is I have poor credit history. I filed bankruptcy on a money pit of a house. I have medical bills that went into collections and have the "unfortunate worst credit score" according to a lender. Personal finance companies will loan at 26-30% interest rate.

I went to a dealership and said I want to test drive a Kia Soul. He wanted to run my credit and I said I really not even sure that I want a Soul just want to see how they handle and he told me that I would be wasting his time. After 30 minutes I was allowed to drive the Soul but was disheartened to find a good credit person would pay 0% interest rate and I would be at 30%.

This is not where I was thinking that I would be in retirement. However, I have the opportunity to look at the positive choices available. I can work with my Social Security and make payments on a vehicle that fits my criteria. I can pray that the Lord leads me to a good used car. I can believe that the Lord will provide a fair lender. I can pray for I know the Lord answers prayers.

I received a sample of Total Nutrition to evaluate. My first thought was it was green. I opened it and thought this is what catnip smells like to a cat. Meaning that - It smelled wonderful. Mind Pin Ball

I awakened yesterday and heard a pin ball machine in my head little did I know I was the ball.

I stumbled out of bed and disturbed the cat who meowed loudly. Ding ding. 1,000 points

Hit the door jam to the left and bounced to the wall on the right. 3,000 points Whirling sounds with the ding ding ding.

Managed to get to the toilet and 'bout slide off it on the way down. 5,000 points I heard the time warp sound.

Exiting the bathroom left shoulder again hit the door jam rounded the corner with the right shoulder bunched off the little dog. 10,000 points ding ding

Take two steps and bunched off the big dog into the wall with my left shoulder as I rounded the corner to kitchen stepped on the little dog. 20,000 ding ding whirling.

Got to the door and opened it into my face. Time warp with flashing lights. 50,000 points

Went to step out of the one inch step into breeze way and stepped on the big dog. 5,000 point

Got to the back door to let the dogs out. This door opens out with the force of the dog energy I felt like I was on an apex leaning out the door waiting for the bonus time warp dinging to stop.

I did an about face and went back to bed.

Artist Trading Cards

Don't you just love making scrapbook pages? A 12 by 12 design can be fun and add a sketch which is a design template and you go from blah to amazing. Then shrink them down to a 4 by 5 card and instead of a picture as a focal point, you use stamps, flowers, Dazzle Stickers (my favorite) and you have another startling canvas. Now change that out and shrink your canvas to an art trading card which is 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches and the challenge is awesome. That being said, let me confess I am having trouble shrinking my mental designs into small images. It is like cooking for 5 people for 25 years and changing that out to just cooking to one. My thoughts and habits are big. But here are some of my finished results.

THE LAST BULLY by Suzy Lieberman is another excellent book. Standing up to bullies is the hardest thing to do by yourself. By standing collectively and addressing the behavior of the bully, Hugo delivers a powerful message. Children need to know there is a way to stop the bully. Not feeling alone while enduring abuse is the greatest gift a child can have. Knowing someone defends them and encourages their positive attributes is like a breath of fresh air. Hugo does this through the Anti-Bullying Club

Suzy Liebermann had done it again through her series of Hugo the Star Fish and his friends in a striking colorful book. This is a timely book with the suicides of grade school children who are bullied and feel there is no other way out. This book and her series is available at www.amazon.com.

THE SECRET TO HAPPINESS by Suzy Lieberman is another excellent book in a series. Hugo is looking for something to make him happy forever. He learns things cannot make people happy it is sharing your heart and talents that make a lasting happiness. Again, I praise Suzy Liebermann's delivery of the concept of happiness in a colorful book. I love the series of Hugo the Starfish. When I worked in the school system as a social worker I scoured the world for educational materials that would engage the children with thoughts of how their actions affected others. This book has delightful colorful images of the ocean. There are so many ways to present this book. I am thinking this would benefit adult children of alcoholics. Even the discussion prompts would relate to that group. Ms. Liebermann has an exceptional ability to relate to youth and adults. I completed the Big Idea Festival at www.bigpictureclasses.com We were assigned to complete a book about a decade in your life. I chose the1950's. It was more time consuming than I anticipated. I had to find the childhood pictures, which was in the last, I mean last box in the garage that I looked in. Then I had to glean the Internet for the pictures that related to the list I was making. I have had so many memories of fun and laughter. Check the end results.
